Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸 “When I taste my protein shakeeee” 😁

I wanted to do a body check since I haven’t lifted a weight in over 2 months. 😱

My movement:
I’ve been consistent.
Body weight workouts and peppering in some resistance band moves here and there.
Averaging 10,000 steps per day on walks and hikes.
I do 1 hour of lower body twice a week and 1 hour of upper body and abs twice a week.
Some type of yoga or mobility work at least twice a week.

My nutrition:
I’ve found a balance and have figured out what works for me through trial and error.
Overnight oats or eggs, fruit, and veggies in the mornings.
Protein shake in the late morning, a prepped meal like rice, veggies, and tofu in the afternoon, and a salad at night.
“I’m 80/20.”
I drink a glass of red wine most nights.
I snack on fruit, dark chocolate, sourdough pretzels, and nuts.
If I want to “cheat,” I eat guilt free to enjoy it in the moment but then get right back to my eating routine afterwards.
I drink lots of water and herbal teas.
I eat organic, GMO free, and local when possible.
When I notice I’m stress eating, I put the food down and tune in.
I don’t count calories or macros.
I listen to my body, eat what makes me feel good and nix what leaves me feeling bloated or gives me heartburn.

Consistency is key and finding your own healthy balance doesn’t need to be complicated.
