Flamingos like these @lincolnchildrenszoo live in large colonies, sometimes numbering into the thousands of individuals. In the wild, these colonies often occupy mud flats with nearby estuaries, as this habitat provides the birds with breeding sites as well as abundant sources of food and reduced competition.
