Here's some more info on how Northern Oaks Bird & Animal Hospital addresses declawing with some questions on the phone. The employee says a declaw is $386 and that includes an exam. When asked who the best vet is for the declaw, the employee recommended the owner vet, Dr Becka Byrd, for the declaw and said she does them regularly but all their doctors do declaws. The employee said they cut them (toes) off with a razor. 🙀 When asked if the cats are ok long term from a declaw, the employee said normally they are ok, but with any surgery there can be complications but as long as they are kittens, they do well. Employee said in rare cases some cats can have adverse reactions but most are perfectly fine. 😾 The employee said that they had their cat declawed by Dr Byrd and their cat is perfectly fine. They said he was fine two days after the declaw and acted like nothing happened. 😿💔 When asked if they have an age limit for a declaw they said no.
