I have to be honest, I only just learned about this day this last week. I also learned how it took TWO and a half years to inform the last enslaved people that they were in fact free. Did any of you learn this in school? Is anyone else learning about this for the first time too? . While many of us are, it’s never too late to learn and celebrate one of the most important days in our history. . I shared on my stories the other day that Luca and I watched “13th” on Netflix last weekend and I was in tears, and that next on my list is “When They See Us”... and so many of you told me to GET READY 😭 because of how devastating it is. As much as I’m almost scared to watch it (not sure how much these pregnancy hormones can take) I think it’s so important to continue educating myself and watch things that may be “uncomfortable” for me, but are real life for so many. .
