Rachel Whiteread’s public sculpture “Nissen Hut” was unveiled in Yorkshire’s Dalby Forest in late 2018. Tamsin Dillon, curator for “14–18 NOW”, the organization that co-commissioned the project, explores the dynamic history of these structures and provides a firsthand account of the steps leading up to the work’s premiere.
