Her efforts, and the efforts of her organization, @giniwcollective, helped usher in a major environmental victory this week, the stoppage of the Keystone XL pipeline. It’s an important win in a huge, long lasting fight. Likewise, her non-profit organization #NotYourMascots, is doing incredibly powerful work around removing racist representations of Indigenous peoples from sports teams. It’s been time, y’all. The erasure of Indigenous peoples and their experiences must be addressed, atoned for, and remedied. “Invisibility has many different outcomes but some of them are extremely deadly.
