Photo by Robbie Shone @shonephoto Lechuguilla Cave, in Carlsbad Caverns National Park, offers us many wondrous sights. These formations that look like lion tails (the white stalactites with orange bulbs) formed close to the water surface, when there was a lake. The white part sat just above the water and the orange part just below the surface. This gives us an idea of the lake level in the past, when the cave was much wetter.
