One of our supporters did some detective work and found this post on her fb page and sent it to us. Rockford Animal Hospital in Michigan is an @catfriendlyhomes American Association of Feline Practitioners SILVER CAT FRIENDLY PRACTICE.🙀 Rockford Animal hospital sent this photo and note to the cat owner after Dr Carol Good declawed poor little Cali. . We sent a polite email to Dr Good and asked her if she educates cat owners like June about how bad declawing is for their cats and counsels them on the easy, humane options. No reply. Fyi, there is also a declawing review on Rockford's fb page from just last year about a poor little cat named Scar. . We sent June a note asking her if Dr Good educated her about declawing and the easy humane options and she thanked us for being a "champion for our kitties." She said there were a number of things that went into her decision to "front declaw Cali", she said Dr Good, her vet for over 30 years has been amazing, she never had a cat declawed before. She said Dr Good explained everything and she is a wonderful, caring vet. She said Dr Good is "very concerned with the good of the pet as well as sensitive to the needs of the owner. " She said Cali was the kitten of a stray her friend took in and she takes good care of her animals, and said the choice to declaw was not lightly made. She said it was many factors, and heavily considered. She said Cali is 5 months old, and is healthy and playful! She said she gives us credit for making the public aware of possible dangers. She said, "Again, it is an owner preference, but should be chosen carefully. Good luck to your group. It helps to speak kindly, and seek information.
