While tourism brings substantial revenue to the Galápagos Islands, conservationists say that the steep increase in tourism could foster huge risks to the wildlife if not monitored closely. Galápagos National Park continues to keep strict control over the amount of visitors allowed in each area per year to protect the biodiversity of the islands, however, the positive and negative impacts of tourism continue to be debated.
