Photo by @lynseyaddario As part of a project to cover the pandemic, I've been following the work of several funeral homes in southern England.

A coffin containing the body of a 56-year-old man is led down the aisle by two pall bearers, followed by undertaker Sarah Wallace, during his funeral at the Sedgemoor Crematorium in Somerset, England, on April 23. The deceased's father and son were the only mourners in attendance, as many loved ones fear attending funerals during the COVID-19 pandemic and comply with social distancing. The United Kingdom was one of the last in Europe to call for a nationwide lockdown to prevent large-scale deaths and illness from the coronavirus. To see more of my work follow @lynseyaddario.
