The 1975 ascent of the Southwest face of Everest was the real deal. The ascent of the south face of Shishapangma, pictured here, was another climb of the ages. More than climbing Doug has helped the communities that intertwine with his life. @communityactionnepal is dedicated to helping rural Nepal. In March Doug was diagnosed with cerebral lymphoma, a type of brain cancer. Subsequently, he has been limited to the ground floor of his home in the Lake District. To celebrate his legacy @communityactionnepal has partnered with all of us (yes you the one reading this) to create the Everest Challenge 2020.
