A panoramic of the devastating #PineGulch fire outside Grand Junction, Colorado - a wildfire that’s sadly now officially the state’s largest in recorded history. To date it’s burned roughly 140,000 acres and is approximately 75% contained thanks to the hard work of the fire fighters. Seeing this first hand was an eye opening experience, clouds of ash rising over 10,000 feet into the sky. The fire was started by a lightning strike, a recipe for destruction during the dry season in an already arid region. Wild fires are certainly no new thing, but are notably increasing as heat index continues to rise, water shortages become more prevalent and climate change rages on.
