With this early enthusiasm for Nature, Dave has spent almost a decade and half balancing a professional rugby career with a real desire to take care of this place we call home. That drive saw him co-found EightyTwenty Vision in 2008, partnering with a rural Zimbabwean community development organisation. In 2012 he backed a price on carbon and has continued to be an outspoken advocate for climate action and conservation. In 2014 Dave was arrested alongside fifth generation farmer, Rick Laird, during a nonviolent direct action protest aiming to stop the development of a new coal mine in Leard State Forest.
