Rural Alentejo, dotted with whitewashed villages and megalithic sites, is a vast land that runs from the “other side of the River Tejo” (giving the name of Alentejo) to the Spanish border. Perhaps the secret of its luminous skies lies in the vastness of the territory and the low density of the population. It is a land of big estates, with large extensions of vineyards, olive groves, and cork woods, where it is normal to have the pleasant feeling of being lost in time and space.
