"A city is way more than its buildings," the New Yorker cartoonist Jeremy Nguyen (@jeremywins) says. When Nguyen moved to Bushwick, in 2011, he started drawing a comic called “Stranger Than Bushwick,” which pinpointed and lampooned all the myriad little things about the neighborhood that were primed for parody (and did so without spite). Now he creates cartoons and comics for the magazine. "Thank goodness for Jeremy and his cartoons, which remind us of all that this city was, is, and will be again," the cartoon editor Emma Allen says.
