Cate Blanchett has set a high-water mark for red-carpet beauty in the era of coronavirus, and part of that business-as-usual spirit—in addition to her quintessential poise—is the help of her longtime makeup artist, Mary Greenwell. The two first met on Blanchett's 1999 V.F. cover shoot with Annie Leibovitz, and have worked together ever since—most recently at this year's Venice Film Festival. “It was very much her show, in a sense,” Greenwell tells V.F. of Blanchett's red carpet turns as the jury president. “Cate is so professional and so beautiful that she just kind of gets on with it."
