thephotosocietyさんのインスタグラム写真 - (thephotosocietyInstagram)「Photograph by @andyparkinsonphoto/@thephotosociety MontPhoto competition success – This image of a mute swan cygnet was recently awarded in @montphotocontest, one of Spain’s most prestigious Outdoor photography competitions. I must admit that it’s not a competition that I usually enter, or have entered ever before, so I was heartened and extremely fortunate that I got lucky on my first attempt. The image is actually a personal favourite of mine, a rare occurrence in the extremely subjective world of photographic competitions that a favoured image gets lucky. Congratulations as well go to my good mate @kevmorgans who bested me this time around with two awards in the same category as mine, the category Birds, as opposed to my one. I actually thought that Kev’s silhouette of two puffins against a spot-lit ocean, arguably one of his finest images to date, had a real chance of a category win, even an overall triumph, but this is the nature of photography competitions, they are entirely subjective. In that regard if I fail in one competition then I might very well enter the same image in other competitions as there’s no way to predict what images the panel of judges will lean toward. Congratulations as well go to my good mate @mattmaranphoto for getting his cracking fox and mosquito image awarded in the Mammals category, another brilliant image but then, if you look at the competition as a whole you’ll see why getting even a single image in does require some real good fortune.
