Why would you ever crawl through something like this? The reason is to record the wonderful Mississippian-era artwork inside Devilstep Hollow cave in Tennessee. The final clip is from the 3D model of the cave and artwork that @stephenalvarez is building for the nonprofit @ancientartarchive and the Tennessee state park system. Working on projects like this is both physically and mentally taxing but also a tremendous privilege. Follow @salvarezphoto and the @ancientartarchive as they construct this VR experience with the direct descendants of the people who made this artwork over 1,000 years ago.
