Injured during World War I, #Pippin turned to painting to help mend his body and spirit. Pippin served in the 369th Infantry Regiment, a division of African American soldiers. Stationed on the front line, his battalion was one of four African American regiments to see combat. Learn more about the artist in "Horace Pippin: From War to Peace" now on view. The museum is honoring our Veterans by extending complimentary timed general admission to active and retired military personnel and their families who visit today.
