The heart of Yosemite National Park in #California is a beautiful valley ringed with #waterfalls and tall granite walls. In our minds, we picture it as a pristine wonderland, but people have been making their homes in Yosemite for millennia. The Miwok people lived in harmony with the land for nearly 4,000 years, until campaigns of forced removal began in 1851. The last village was dismantled in 1969. Some descendants of #Yosemite's native people live nearby, while others are scattered throughout the world. Reconstructed bark homes and a ceremonial roundhouse help tell their story in the park.
