Photos by Pete McBride @pedromcbride / The lens has introduced me to a remarkable array of humans. I often wonder where they are today. These unpublished portraits are just a few of the gentle, friendly souls I met in the tiny country of Bhutan, when I trekked 230 miles (370 km) for @ナショナルジオグラフィック across its northern Himalaya border. We traveled along an ancient yak herders' route over eleven high-mountain passes (some above 5,000 meters/16,000 ft) on what is considered today one of the hardest treks in the world, due to its length, elevation, and weather. In 28 days of hiking, I saw not one wheel. #travel #bhutan #humanity #portraits #petemcbride
