Photograph by @florianschulzvisuals // A few years back, I made a little short film about nature photography. I called it “Chasing The Light”. In a way, this has been the story of my life as a photographer. As you work as a journalist, it is all about the story. In nature photography ever so often, the light becomes the story.
When you look up the Greek roots of the word “photography” its meaning translates close to “painting with light”. Out of my body of work, this image of a brown bear sitting alongside a salmon stream in Alaska brings this meaning of photography down to the point. It is just lines painted by light.
