Fifty years ago today, the #Apollo14 mission landed on the Moon. These are the spacesuits worn by Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell when they walked on the lunar surface, and by Stuart Roosa who piloted the command module. All three are now in our @airandspacemuseum's collection.

Apollo spacesuits were human-shaped spacecraft that protected astronauts working outside a vehicle or during unpressurized spacecraft operation. They were designed for maximum mobility, to be worn with relative comfort for up to 115 hours. #Apollo50
