you are the remedy.

what would happen if instead of trying to fix yourself, you gave yourself permission to be the way you are?

so often, whenever an uncomfortable feeling shows up we think there is something wrong with us. we feel like there is something we have to fix. something we have to change. we were taught that sadness is bad and fear is bad and anger is bad so anytime those feelings come up we jump into doing so we can get away from it. if we only were more confident. if we only were stronger, more resilient, more brave. or - maybe if we found the right yoga class, then we would feel better. or the right self-help book. the right teacher. the right partner. the right job. the right body. the right life situation. if only. if only...

the list of things about ourselves and our lives that we think we need to improve is endless.

so. instead of trying to fix or improve or alter - something that hasn’t worked a lot of magic in the past - what would happen if you let the hard thing be? if you gave that feeling permission to exist? if you allowed the pain, the confusion, the numbness, the grief?

breathe space into that tight place in your chest that’s working so hard to keep all the hard feelings at bay.

feel the feeling.
(it’s exhausting not to, but we’re so used to it we don’t even know how much energy it actually takes)
feel the feeling.

let yourself in.

let in the sadness.
let in the joy.
let in everything that’s already a part of who you are.

you are not a problem to fix.
there is nothing wrong with you.

you are the remedy.
you were always

whole.
