When Meg and Amy were young, every time I visited them they would both jump up on me and then pull me to the ground. This was a behavior learnt from a very young age. Usually when the lions grow from cubs into adults this trait disappears. Wishful thinking when it came to Meg and Amy. They pretty much maintained this level of exuberance all the way up until around 16 years of age. Amy passed away last year January, to add to the pretty crap year that lay ahead in 2020, but Meg is still fit, strong and healthy, turning 18 in June. She mostly doesn’t jump up anymore, but every now and again when she’s super excited she forgets she’s an old lady 👵 and surprises both of us with a jump up and a hug! #gettingoldsucks
