I walked it for my grandpa David who you can see on my second slide celebrating Christmas in style 😍🎄 Isn’t he just the cutest reindeer you’ve ever seen?! 💕😂 There aren’t many people in the world I admire more than my granda let me tell you. He was always such a positive and strong influence in my life- ridiculously kind, sports mad, a brilliant footballer, hard working, loved a party and his family were EVERYTHING to him. In fact, it was the way he loved my grandma, that kept my faith in finding my own happily ever after alive. He was just so devoted to her, utterly obsessed and so proud to call her his wife. Practically childhood sweethearts, 2 lovely children, 4 grandkids and endless friends and extended family who loved the Birdsey’s so much 💜 There house was a party house and everyone loved visiting 😍 When I think about their relationship- i know it’s what love should look like- and it’s the only time I don’t hate dementia and what it’s doing to my strong and thoughtful grandpa because it means he doesn’t know my grandma’s gone. I just don’t think he could cope with that you see 🥺 So I walk for him, for the memories that we made that are lost to him now, for the lessons he taught me that made me the woman I am today and for the tender moments that I remember for the both of us.
