エイミー・オールコックさんのインスタグラム写真 - (エイミー・オールコックInstagram)「🚨 LONG POST ALERT 🚨 24 days ago I stood on the start line for the start of my 2021 season, the season I was hoping would qualify me for my first ever Olympic Games. 24 days later, I’ve been run down by a mystery virus, attempted to reopen my season, had the worst race in over 8 years, dragged myself back onto the start line 3 days later to then add a DNF to my name. The mental battle of sport has been tough this year🤯 On Monday an ultrasound on my left achilles showed a potential tear. Today the MRI confirmed that to be true, although there's not just 1 tear, there's 2 tears... I've battled an achilles niggle since the start of lockdown in March 2020 - it hasn't ever stopped me training but it has altered some of the intensity in which I've been able to train. Unfortunately now it seems that niggle has fully stopped me in my tracks 💔 I've learnt a lot about myself since turning 'pro' and I've really realised how mentally tough I am and able to bounce back after set backs so I'll be rehabbing with the full intention to return to the track next year better than ever!
