豊田章男さんのインスタグラム写真 - (豊田章男Instagram)「. 3年ぶりに出席できた全米ディーラー大会。在庫も持てず、納期も長くなる中、真摯にお客様と向き合ってくれている販売店の皆さまに、直接、感謝を伝えたいと現地に向かいました。しかし、厳しい中でも、好調な販売を支えてくれている皆さまに会い、逆に、刺激と元気をいただきました。スピーチの後には、多くの方々に「Thank you Akio」と声をかけてもらいました。販売店のご期待に対して、トヨタは商品で応える会社でありたいと改めて実感しました。そんな米国でのセールスを率いてくれていたのがボブ・カーターさんです。 40年以上にわたり、ディーラーに寄り添い、信頼関係を築いて、トヨタのセールスを支えてくれた仲間です。今年勇退したボブと奥様に、改めて、この場に来てもらい、私から最大限の感謝の気持ちを込めた提案をしました。誰よりも熱く、私と同じだけの気持ちでトヨタのことを考えてくれたボブは、これから「ボブ・カーター」でなく「ボブ・トヨダ」と名乗ってもらった方が良いかも…笑販売店の皆さま、そして、ボブ。皆さまのおかげでトヨタはお客様との絆を築くことができます。感謝してもしきれません。本当にありがとう！ For the first time in three years, I was able to attend our national dealer meeting in the U.S. I wanted to be there in person to thank all the dealers doing their best to serve our customers despite limited inventory and longer delivery times. And yet, even in these difficult times, meeting the people who have managed to sustain such strong sales left me feeling motivated and re-energized. After my speech, many people came up to say, “Thank you, Akio.” It was another reminder that I want Toyota to be a company that meets the dealers' expectations with outstanding products. The sales efforts in the U.S. have been led by Bob Carter. He worked hand in hand with dealerships for over 40 years, building the trust that has underpinned Toyota’s sales. After Bob honorably retired this year, I invited him and his wife Jane to attend the dealer meeting, where I once again expressed my utmost gratitude with a proposition. As Bob is the only person whose passion for Toyota has matched my own, I suggested that from now on he was welcome to call himself “Bob Toyoda”! 😊 To all of our dealers and Bob, it is through you that Toyota can build strong bonds with our customers.
