Meet Clifton Cobalt, the First of His Name, Prince of Plaster, Keeper of Blue Hair, Lord of both LA and Orange County, and Maestro of Interior Decor.

His origin wasn’t as grand …… picking my way through a vintage shop I discovered a heavily cracked plaster head which had only about an inch long neck. Circling the base of that short neck were a dozen holes that maybe were used to sew him onto a fabric form? Or, perhaps he was nailed onto a wooden torso? ???? He was due for a FULL makeover and a new life which began by mending his face, then using rope and plaster to create a fab updo, followed by a combo of wood, leather, and plaster to form a collar and bowtie. Many layers of acrylic later, he’s now ready to face the world and begin a new chapter.

No longer is he just a damaged object in a box of misfit castoffs…. NO! He’s now a dapper gent resting atop a base of old-growth redwood fashioned by my incredibly talented friend @jamesenglishstudio

Clifton may only be a mere 25 inches tall but he’s a giant in stature. He has a brother and sister which I’ll be introducing this week.
