シャーロット・デュリフさんのインスタグラム写真 - (シャーロット・デュリフInstagram)「700 and counting, 8a+, Kyparissi, Greece I bolted this route in December 2021 while @joshlrsn @dannyclimbs7 and I had an awesome but rainy trip so we couldn’t really climb. We were bolting in a new sector and I noticed this big tuffa way up above ground, sticking out of a prow feature in the overhang… I couldn’t resist and bolted it ground up. Sadly, it was wet, and limestone (especially tuffas!) get fragile when it’s soaked up with rain, so I didn’t get to climb in it then. When we returned in summer 2022 for our wedding, I obviously really wanted to climb it (amongst other undone projects we had bolted), but in parallel I also had my 2022 goal to achieve : climb 17 routes 8a or harder, so I would reach the anecdotic number of 700 throughout my career. When we got to Greece, I had 3 left, and I paced myself to make the 700th special. You guessed it, I picked that big tuffa line to be my project for the 700th. I didn’t know the grade, nor the moves, and I still had to clean it. After two days working on it and making it ready to climb, I clipped the chains, and it was a great moment : it felt challenging enough, it’s a line I bolted during a trip with my favorite person @joshlrsn in one of the best places in the World, my dad was there to belay me, and I could now relax for my wedding happening a few days later 😂 If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the @coldhousemedia « and counting » film of this story (with cool archival footage!) on @epictv or by following the link in my bio !
