Seeing the evolution of climbing in the valley and the place it’s taken over the year since our first visit in 2018 is really heartwarming. The Pitumarca climbing wall is rather tiny in our occidental standards, in the middle of Cocor and Diana’s living room, but it’s such a great way for the kids to gather in this space, learn about sustainability with @uma_rumi, and grow together around our great sport. And, there is talent there! Truth is most of those kids work in the farm all day, walk for hours everyday at high altitude, so they have that natural force that is a great basis for climbing, and they are just so psyched to learn, play, progress and be independent on the rock. @joshlrsn and I have been excited to work with them during their evening sessions in the village, sharing with them as much as we can. And it was so cool watching them compete at @templodelosmonos_cusco in Cusco where we helped the locals set a few blocs.
