I’m proud to have taken Rifle a step further in difficulty over the years as that place is just as much a part of me as I’m a part of it. I’ve learned some wild beta there and had some of my best climbing memories as well. Locals doubted that they were holds, but I knew I saw the features from the ground and while lowering from its neighboring routes. So I bolted up out the cave one day and then spent 10 days to cleaning it. Hammering choss, brushing gravel, sand, dust and redirecting the line. I get a tad OCD when it comes to my routes as I want them to be enjoyable to work, dog on, climb sections and send. My work is for you at the end of the day. Not me. When the cleaning was done I opened it up and the strong guys went at it! “An instant classic in one of the country’s most famous caves.
