Last week I got to be part of the @subisportsmassageandphysio all female team competing in the @porttopub swim in Perth - a 20km open water swim from Perth to Rottnest Island. I've never really done any open water swimming...so to say I was underprepared is an understatement. As a relay team, we swam in 60 second intervals arriving at Rottnest in the record time of 4hrs16min. Here are some things I learned: -it's very hard to swim straight without a black line to follow. -20km is a looooong way. -I was too tired to worry about sharks. -I'm pretty sure I swallowed half of the ocean -good music is essential to keeping spirits high. -my nipples started chaffing from the salt. -there was a point in the middle of the race where I questioned my life choices. -I'm already thinking about how we could go faster next time. -I will not be transitioning to Open Water swimming - mad respect for those athletes. @bronte_campbell @r.osie.w.ilson @jesspengelly #openwaterswimming #rottnestisland」3月25日 13時05分
