This Pallas’s long-tongued bat is gracing your feed with his best smile on #BatAppreciationDay. This small but mighty species is an important pollinator and seed disperser throughout its homerange, known to consume parts of at least 34 different species of plants. When feeding, these bats will practice one of two different foraging techniques - territorial or trapline feeding. Bats that practice territorial feeding will defend a small area of land with preferred food plants, while trapline feeders follow the same route every night feeding on a variety of plants as they travel to and from their resting place.
