ancco’s work is about the nostalgia everyone experiences. “Having always worked in 2D, I recently devoted myself to ceramics. I am so fascinated with 3D works, because they allow me to strongly feel the actual existence of a character. The figure standing there is engraved with an irreplaceable and precious memory — something that makes up who I am today. All humans change, but I don’t think the things that restore us and that we’ve liked since childhood change very much.

When you go back to your parents’ home, do you ever find the toys and stuffed animals you used to play with lying dusty in storage or in the back of a display cabinet? I want to create the kind of work that brings back the time spent and the feeling you get when you touch these objects you have always loved, even if you had forgotten about them.”
