The toughest place on Earth to be an elephant may be the Namib Desert in southern Africa. With temperatures that can surpass 120 degrees Fahrenheit and less than three inches of rainfall a year, the desert is a land of extremes. Nonetheless, a group of 150 elephants is managing to survive.
