Can't keep it together? Iceberg A-76A knows that feeling.
The iceberg is the largest remnant of A-76, which broke off Antarctica in May 2021. Now, as A-76A moves into warmer waters near South Georgia Island, it's rapidly melting and splintering apart.
Image Description:
Satellite image of icebergs in the ocean. The icebergs are thin, white rectangular shapes with sharp, pointed ends floating in the dark ocean. A blanket of fluffy clouds obstructs some of the view in the top left and bottom right corner. The largest iceberg fragment is A-76A. Under the clouds to the right, South Georgia Island is a long, curved all-white landmass.
