【Morioka’s traditions】

Other than the famous Three Great Noodles, historical building and ironware, Morioka offers authentic cultural experiences too, at Morioka Machiya Monogatari Museum.

Dress up in your choice of kimono/yukata and enjoy a simple tea ceremony using Nanbu-Tekki chagama (tea kettle), then take a stroll around the photogenic merchant town full of yesteryears charm.

If you are up for the challenge, try the taiko experience at the Hamato Hall and feel the beat of “Nanbu Yoshare Bushi”, a folk song from the Shizukuishi Region. Check out @hosokawakai_minbu!
