‘I guess you could say I’m like a film director, but my movies have only one frame.’ – Jeff Wall, born #OnThisDay 1946. 📷
This dramatic, large-scale photograph by the Canadian artist shows us the moment four people get caught by a sudden gust of wind. Hats are being clutched, papers are flying through the air, and scarves are gone with the wind. The artwork is based on a woodcut from a famous portfolio, The Thirty-six Views of Fuji, by the Japanese painter and printmaker Katsushika Hokusai. Swipe across to take a look. 👀
