小林エリカさんのインスタグラム写真 - (小林エリカInstagram)「English follows Japanese 「文學界」11月号（文藝春秋） @Bungakukai 小林エリカ「風船爆弾フォリーズ」最終回です！5回にわたりありがとうございました。風船爆弾にまつわるひとりひとりから大切な言葉を預かりました。全力でそれを手渡せるようこれから尽力します。「どうしてわたしは知らされていなかったんだろう。隠されていた、っていう気持ちはあった。秘密にされていたことへの抵抗。」女学生時代に風船爆弾づくりに動員された方の言葉です。四十年間、かつて自分が作ったものがいったい何だったのか、知らされなかったことに気づいた時ご自身で防衛庁へ出向いたり、かつて東京宝塚劇場の工場で風船爆弾を作った記憶を辿り、自費出版の本をまとめられました。ご本人に原稿をお見せできなかったことが残念でなりませんが、どうか頑張って伝えて欲しいとお便りをいただいたことを胸に、頑張ります。かつての私は、本や記録や歴史がここに存在するのを、まるであたりまえのように思っていました。けれど、風船爆弾のことは四十年間、書き記されていなかったし、今なお書かれていないこともあるでしょう。ただ今私が知ることができるのは、それを伝えようと、尽力し、書留めた、ひとりひとりのおかげです。 BUNGAKUKAI November Issue 2023 @Bungakukai Erika Kobayashi presents the final chapter of “Paper Balloon Bomb Follies(Fusen-bakudan-folies)“! Thank you for being with us through its five-part journey. I've received important words from individuals associated with the balloon bombs making during WW2, and I promise to relay them with all my might. "Why wasn't I informed? I had this feeling that it was hidden from me, a resistance towards being kept in the dark." These are the words of a woman who, during her student days, was mobilized to manufacture balloon bombs. For forty years, she remained unaware of the trueth what she had made. Upon realizing this, she approached the Defense Agency herself and retraced her memories of making balloon bombs at the former Tokyo Takarazuka Theater factory. She even self-published a book about her experiences. It's regrettable that I couldn't show the manuscript to her in person, but I carry in my heart her wish for the story to be told. I once took for granted the existence of books, records, and history around me. However, the story of the balloon bombs remained unwritten for forty years, and even now, there may be untold stories.
