You’ll never not experience stress and nerves at competition, it’s part of the package.

The handling of that stress is what separates the champions from the rest of the pack.

While it’s a different recipe for each individual, there are countless tips and tricks you can try out to see what helps you most!

My personal tricks from competing:

🌟visualizing clean programs the night before
🌟doing homework earlier in the day before my event
🌟eating WELL even when I wasn’t super hungry due to the anxious stress
🌟slipping the mental steel shield on when arriving to the rink, stepping on ice, and especially when my name was called. no extra coaxing
🌟grit mentality during the program. mentally repeating “do it” entering my jumps to force my body-mind connection to execute
🌟telling myself “it’s just practice for ‘regionals’ ‘sectionals’ ‘nationals’ ‘worlds’ ‘olympics’. there’s always a bigger competition, use the current one you’re in as mental practice for the next to help ease the stress
