Sculpting the Senses ~ today we zoom into the second concept inside our grand retrospective at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Iris’s fascination with the microscopically small has made her study microorganisms and the creative forces at the origin of life.
The invisible beauty of the architectures and textures of such microorganisms are exposed in ‘the Forces behind the Forms’.
Inspired by the breathtaking scientific illustrations of biologist Ernst Haeckel in the 19th century and contemporary artists Tomáš Libertíny and Ren Ri, this room reflects morphogenesis and the basic structures of life. Art, Nature and Science become part of a single synergy, like an ecosystem, in the collaborations with kinetic artist Casey Curran and sculptor Rogan Brown.
