Visited a few historical and culturally significant sites around the cities of Madinah and AlUla.

Started the morning in Madinah, the second holiest city in Islam, after Makkah. We saw the Nabawi Mosque (Prophet’s Mosque), renowned for its distinctive features, like the green dome which sits at the centre of the mosque where the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad rests. Also visited the Quba Mosque, believed to be the first mosque in the world.

Then onwards to AlUla, where there are magnificent sandstone outcrops and tombs that date back two thousand years. I thank the Saudis for their warm hospitality, and for sharing their rich culture and heritage with the Singapore delegation! – LHL
