I haven’t been wearing too much makeup recently in Bali to allow my skin to breathe, but while staying here at @nihi I thought I’d make a little effort for a sunset party using some natural products that have been working a dream.

You may have seen from my recent YouTube video that I’ve been on a mission to figure out what’s been irritating my skin and digestion. I think I may have finally cracked it… and the culprit? Gluten. I’ve always believed demonising gluten is wrong and that only those who actually experience symptoms from gluten intolerance or allergies should avoid it, so I kept on enjoying gluten thinking I was fine. Turns out I may be one of those people who have an intolerance! Anyway, I speak more about this in the video if you’re interested to hear more.

I have been keeping my makeup and skincare oh-so simple. The last thing I want to do is irritate it even more, which is why I prefer to use natural products. Now there’s a balance here because I don’t think we should put so much pressure on ourselves to be ‘perfect’. There’s no need to throw out the not-so-perfect-ingredient products that you love. It’s more a case of becoming mindful of the ingredients we put on our skin if we’re experiencing sensitivities. We can trial and error to see what works for us because we’re all different at the end of the day.
