テート・ギャラリーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (テート・ギャラリーInstagram)「#WorkOfTheWeek is Hungarian artist Dóra Maurer’s self-portrait series, Seven Twists I-VI. 📷 Maurer frequently stages herself in front of the camera, and the self-portrait is a recurring motif in her work. By placing herself on both sides of the photographic lens, the artist blurs the border between her active status as a creator and her passive role as the subject being observed. More than a reflection on self-representation, these artworks look to focus on movement, proportions, change and progression. Trained as a graphic artist in the 1950s, Maurer pushed the medium to its limit in her experimental works of the following two decades. In the 1970s she started to work in photography and moving image, often collaborating with musicians, as well as teaching creative performative workshops. She developed increasingly geometric and abstract drawings and paintings in the 1970s and beyond. Displacement, perception and transformation have remained consistent threads in her work. Never tied down to one medium, Maurer remains a unique voice, constantly in motion.
