Among the more than 15 types of sugar produced in Japan, ‘wasanbon’ is unique.😊

It comes from a native sugarcane that is grown only in certain parts of the Shikoku region, and is then produced at just six specialized refineries still in operation today.

Wasanbon is used in a variety of dishes, but its very fine grains and mild sweetness make it perfect for traditional wagashi sweets.😋
