After diving into the glittering worlds in Shanghai and Singapore for the presentations of the projects I had recently worked hard for (and many people devoted so much time and effort to), I returned home late last night and went straight back to the studio.
I was there to check the completion of the work that couldn’t be completed in time for the opening of my Perrotin Shanghai show. This work involved very difficult technical steps of applying the metal leaf sheets and adjusting the edges where leaves and the paint met. But we managed to create a splendid new work.
These days, as I sense the end of my life approaching, I am constantly trying to make what progress I can toward the perfection of the way of art that I believe in during my lifetime.
In the photo of the painting with me for size comparison, I look as pathetic and shabby as ever in my usual worn-out leggings.

上海、シンガポール、と、少し前まで頑張ってきた（頑張ってもらっていた）プロジェクト達の発表会で、キラキラした世界を潜ってきましたが、昨日の夜遅くに帰国して、スタジオへ直行。
ペロタン上海のオープニングに間に合わなかった作品の完成のチェックに立ち会いました。箔を貼ってそれと絵の具のエッヂの調整が本当に大変。でも、素晴らしい新作ができました。
最近は死期が迫りつつある事を感じつつ、兎に角存命中にすこしでも自分の信ずる芸術の在り方の完成に向けて前進していければと思ってます。
相変わらずの情けないパッチ姿での作品との大きさ比較写真がヨレヨレで情けないです。
