Dorothy “Dottie” Dee served in the Marine Corps from 1943-1945 as an administrative clerk at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA.

Women Marines like Dottie performed more than 200 military assignments during World War II, making significant contributions to the war effort and paving the way for future generations of military women to serve the nation.

To this day, men and women continue to follow in the footsteps of patriotic young Americans like Dottie – those who see a job to be done and feel compelled to serve their country.
