One Legacy

A Los Angeles native and Navy Cross recipient, Eddie Ray began his career as a Marine artilleryman before earning his commission and leading his Light Armored Vehicle Company against Iraqi forces during Operation Desert Storm. Under Ray’s steadfast leadership, in one battle alone his LAV company destroyed 50 enemy vehicles and captured 250 combatants.

Credited for revolutionizing mechanized fighting and helping to establish Marine Special Operations Command, Ray has had a storied career in the Corps.
