DPM Saleumxay is here to deliver the 24th @asean Lecture at the @iseas.yusof.ishak.institute. I thanked DPM Saleumxay for Laos’ support for the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP), and for making a significant step towards the vision of an ASEAN Power Grid. As we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of our relations next year, I look forward to both countries embarking on new areas of cooperation, including renewable energy, carbon credits, and digital economy. DPM Saleumxay told me that he had just met a group of Lao senior officials, who are in Singapore for a capacity building programme. We hope that by sharing our journey and experiences, the Lao officials can adapt them to their own circumstances to improve the lives of their people. DPM Saleumxay and I also discussed Laos’ priorities and challenges as the Chair of ASEAN in 2024.
